3rd/4th Grade Girls

The goal for this activity is to have a majority of the focus on the fundamentals of basketball with a smaller focus on winning and losing basketball games.  The majority of the kids that will be participating will have very little basketball experience and need a great deal of practice on learning the proper way to dribble, shoot, pass, move feet, play defense, rebound, etc.

The general concept is to…

  1. Spend the first several practices with the kids divided into groups working together to learn and practice the fundamentals.
  2. To keep things lively and to practice what we’ve learned, some practice time will be spent scrimmaging.  This will help keep it interesting for the players.
  3. On Saturday October 31st, November 7th, November 14th and November 21st , “official” games will be hosted where parents can come and watch their kids play against each other.
